ON THE RECORD WITH GRETA VAN SUSTEREN

Interview With Jayna Davis

VAN SUSTEREN:  Chilling connections tonight between homegrown terror and our enemies abroad.  On April 19, 1995 , during a clear morning not unlike September 11, the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City was ripped in two by a truck bomb.  One hundred and sixty-eight innocent
victims were killed in that attack attributed to this man.

Timothy McVeigh was executed by lethal injection on June 11, 2001 .
His accomplice, Terry Nichols, is currently spending life in prison.  But
was there a third hand involved in the terror?

Former KFOR-TV reporter Jayna Davis reported on the terrible events as they happened, and what she's reporting now will shock you.  Was the
butcher of Baghdad , Saddam Hussein, behind the bombing?

Joining us from Oklahoma City , Jayna Davis.

Jayna, you believe that Saddam Hussein was behind this bombing, do you not?

JAYNA DAVIS, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST:  Well, we don't have a dead-bang connection of state sponsorship by the nation of Iraq , but there are very compelling indicators, Greta.  I have 22 sworn witness affidavits from Oklahomans who can positively identify Middle Eastern men acting in collusion with McVeigh and Nichols, many of whom -- many of these suspects were former Iraqi soldiers who claimed to be defectors from Saddam Hussein's army.

One of those soldiers in particular is Hussein Hassam Al-Husseini.
Now he bears a striking resemblance, an uncanny resemblance, to the FBI
profile sketch of John Doe #2.  Seven of the witnesses that I have located
and interviewed extensively positively identify him in the company of
McVeigh prior to the bombing, sitting in the passenger seat of the Ryder
truck the morning of the bombing, stepping out of that truck at ground zero
moments before that massive fertilizer bomb went off and killed 168 people, and speeding away from downtown in a getaway vehicle that was aggressively pursued by the FBI the morning of the bombing.  I submitted...

VAN SUSTEREN:  Jayna, one of -- one of the interesting questions, as I was reading some of your reports, is that there are actually affi -- that
you have affidavits or you have police reports where there were cars
speeding away.  There was -- a Chevy pickup truck was one, and a blue car was another, where they were on the lookout for men of Middle Eastern -- moments after the building blew up.  Is that right?

DAVIS :  Yes.  And this was from witnesses at the scene that were
actually talking to the FBI. I've seen the FBI interview 302s, the official
interview reports, and there was also coming from a report from an Oklahoma Highway patrolman who actually pulled over some Middle Eastern men in a brown Chevrolet Blazer prior to the bombing.

And, after the bombing, he ran the plate and realized that it actually
was a plate that had been taken off a rental vehicle at the Dallas-Fort
Worth Airport and was tied to two Pakistanis, one originally from Nohor
(ph), Pakistan, which was the home of the training camp of Usama bin Laden.

VAN SUSTEREN:  You know what's so interesting, Jayna?  I went to the Oklahoma City bombing trial in Denver , and I know those prosecutors were very thorough and hard working.

Why in your mind would they look away from something like that,
because it's hard for me to think that they would have the information that
you're telling me and they would look the other way?

DAVIS :  I don't believe they would look the other way, Greta.  I agree
with you completely.  I believe that only a handful of people or maybe no
one knew -- maybe this information just innocently slipped through the
cracks in a massive federal investigation.

But the important question here is now: Why doesn't the FBI at least
detain and question these men?  This man who was identified by numerous
witnesses of being an Iraqi John Doe 2, who assisted McVeigh and Nichols in the plot to blow up the Murrah building -- I submitted his background
information to the former chief of human intelligence to the Defense
Intelligence Agency.

And he analyzed that background information and a military tattoo on
his upper left arm, and he concluded that this man, Hussein Al-Husseini
most likely served in the Iraqi Republican Guard and then was subsequently
recruited into the elite unit 999 of the Iraqi intelligence service, and
that is based out of Sal Man Pak, southeast of Baghdad, and tasked with
carrying out clandestine operations overseas and at home in the Middle
East.

VAN SUSTEREN:  Why -- why is this being ignored now?

DAVIS :  I don't know.  I don't have an answer to that question.  That
is a question for the former administration and to the handful of people
that would be responsible for looking at this information when I was turned
around in -- turned away in '97 when I tried to turn over the 22 witness
affidavits to the FBI, and, when they finally took custody of it in '99,
Greta, they never followed up on it.  Not one witness was interviewed.

VAN SUSTEREN:  And right now -- but right today -- right today, why isn't anyone doing anything on this?

DAVIS:  Well, that's a question for Congress to pose to the Department
of Justice, and I hope that they do, and I hope that there are hearings so
the American people will know whether or not Saddam Hussein was, in fact, behind the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building and the deaths of 168 Americans, more soldiers than died on the sands of the Gulf War.

VAN SUSTEREN:  All right.  Jayna Davis, thank you very much.
